Vrnjačka Banja features distinctive characteristics of the moderate continental climate which is modified by local conditions with moderately hot summers and moderately cold winters. Average annual temperature is 10.3°C, in winter it is -0.8°C, in spring10.5°C, in summer 20.0°C and 11.4°C in autumn. The highest air temperature in Vrnjačka Spa of 40.5°C was recorded in 1939 (on 22nd July). The lowest temperature was recorded in 1929 (on 11th February) and was -28.5°C.

Average relative humidity amounts to 73.7%. The driest month is August, and the wettest is December. In most months the morning humidity is higher than in the evening, the exceptions being May, June, July and December. Average annual quantity of atmospheric precipitation in Vrnjačka Spa is 779.2 mm. Most precipitation falls in June and October, and least in September. The longest sunshine duration is in July and August, whereas the shortest is in December and January.

Cloudiness in Vrnjačka Spa is not high with mean cloudiness being 55%. The difference between the clearest month (August) and the cloudiest one (January) is significant and amounts to 35%. In all the months, except in June, the morning cloudiness is higher than the evening one. There are approximately 80 clear days a year, with average cloudiness under 20%. During the greatest part of the year the cloudiness is moderate.

The mountain elevations surrounding Vrnjačka Banja shelter the spa from strong winds. There are some windy days in February, March and April, whereas there are fewer in other months. A great number of days in a year are with no wind, about 170 of them. In summer months a gentle breeze can be felt in the early evening.
